About
The Seoul Anglican Cathedral was built during the Japanese colonial era and it is located beside Deoksugung Palace. The cathedral was constructed under the direction of the Rt. Reverend Mark Trollope, the third bishop of the Anglican Church of Korea and British architect Arthur Dixon. Although construction was completed in 1926, the Anglican Church of Korea considers 1890 as the date of the cathedral's foundation, since this was the year when the first service of Holy Communion was held. The cathedral is the seat of the Seoul Anglican Diocese and Tangible Cultural Property of Seoul No. 35.
