A Look at Yonsei University's 3 Historic Halls

Yonsei University is one of Korea's best universities. Its history is deep and many of the buildings on the Yonsei campus have modern historical significance as they were built in the early years of the 20th century. Stimson Hall was the first building ever built on the Yonsei campus and it was constructed in 1920. The hall was designated Historic Site No. 275 in 1981. Underwood Hall, Historic Site No. 276, was the second building ever built at Yonsei University. Today the hall functions as a museum dedicated to the founder of Yonsei, Horace G. Underwood and the Underwood family. Appenzeller Hall was built in 1924 and holds the designation of Historic Site No. 277. The hall was built to commemorate Henry Appenzeller who established the famed Korean boys' school, Paichai Hakdang.
