Dongdaemun Stadium Memorial

In October 1925, Gyeongseong Stadium first opened to the east of the Seoul City Wall. Over the course of 82 years, during which its name changed to Seoul Stadium and Dongdaemun Stadium, this modern stadium remained in the same location, going beyond its original role as a stadium and sharing history with the rapidly changing Republic of Korea. The Dongdaemun Stadium Memorial covers the history of the stadium from Gyeongseong Stadium, to Seoul Stadium which became a space for post-liberation sporting matches and various events, and until its demolition in 2007 after being renamed Dongdaemun Stadium.
