GALLERY J. ONE
An exhibition space where you can encounter the sensibility of Korean contemporary art amidst the serene alley atmosphere.
About
GALLERY J. ONE is a contemporary art gallery located at 13 Palpan-gil, where Samcheong-dong and Bukchon meet. Starting in 2008 at Bongsan Cultural Street in Daegu, GALLERY J. ONE is further expanding its flow through its Seoul space in 2025, based on domestic and international activities and a long exhibition history. The white-cube-based gallery building evokes a small-scale European contemporary cultural art space, harmonizing a white linear structure, grid-patterned iron glass windows, and an open traffic line leading to an outdoor staircase. The varying window locations and space depths on each floor naturally adjust the rhythm of viewing artworks, while natural light entering through the windows and refined interior lighting create a calm viewing environment. Beyond the windows and rooftop terrace, the mud-tile roofs of Hanoks, the ridge line of Bugaksan Mountain, and the roofline of the National Folk Museum of Korea come into view at a glance. As Seoul's ancient scenery and Oriental mood quietly seep into the modern exhibition space, the exhibition here goes beyond viewing artworks to become an experience where urban time and artistic contemplation meet. GALLERY J. ONE is a serene and dignified culture and arts space you can encounter along the Samcheong-dong walking trail.
