Free entry to Seoul’s palaces, 29 Oct–15 Nov 2026 — check closing days
The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center has announced free admission from 29 October to 15 November 2026 for the four palaces, Jongmyo and the Joseon royal tombs. Here is the official announcement (Korean).
Regular closing days still apply. For a Seoul visit, check these before planning your route.
Gyeongbokgung and Jongmyo normally close on Tuesdays — 3 and 10 November during this period.
Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung and Deoksugung normally close on Mondays — 2 and 9 November.
Admission to Changdeokgung’s Secret Garden is excluded from the free-entry offer. Separately ticketed night events and special programs have their own admission and booking rules.
For regular daytime visits to Gyeongbokgung, last entry is 17:00 in October and 16:00 in November.
Public-holiday adjustments and special notices can change the regular schedule, so check the latest notice for the palace or site you plan to visit before you go.
