About Fornur

Life in Korea, explained by people who've actually lived it.

We're building the platform we wished existed when we first landed here — one place to find trusted clinics, services, tours and community, without guessing your way through it alone.

What is Fornur

Our Story

Fornur did not begin as an attempt to build a platform for everything. It started with one very specific problem.

2020 — Shejang

It Started With International Food

Before Fornur, there was Shejang, an online international grocery marketplace created around challenges foreigners experienced when trying to find familiar food in Korea.

International products could be difficult to find online, dietary requirements could complicate shopping and language barriers made the process harder.

Shejang was built to reduce that friction through international groceries, halal products and delivery designed around foreign residents in Korea.

Beyond Groceries

The problem Shejang addressed was never limited to food.

Foreign residents also need healthcare, local services, employment and visa support, activities, education, everyday information and people who understand what it is like to navigate Korea from an international perspective.

As the concept expanded, Shejang moved into Forpang, a broader platform designed around life in Korea rather than groceries alone.

2026 — Fornur

A Broader Platform. A Clearer Identity.

Fornur is the next evolution of that platform.

What began with international groceries has expanded into a broader ecosystem connecting foreigners with services, businesses, healthcare and beauty options, shopping, experiences, educational opportunities, practical content and community discussions across Korea.

The name is new.
The purpose behind it is not.

We are still working on the same underlying problem identified years ago:

How can life in Korea be easier to navigate when you are not already familiar with the language, systems and options around you?

Fornur is our answer to that question.

Who it's for

Built for Foreigners Navigating Korea

Fornur is designed for people navigating Korea from an international perspective. This can include foreign residents, international students, professionals, families, newcomers and international visitors.

  • I need a dentist in Seoul.
  • Where can I find halal food?
  • I need help understanding a local service.
  • What can I do this weekend?
  • How do other foreigners handle this?

Different people arrive with different needs. Fornur's role is to bring those starting points into a more connected experience.

Our role

What Fornur Does—and What It Doesn't

What Fornur Does

  • Helps users discover businesses and services
  • Provides marketplace listings and practical information
  • Supports consultation and enquiry pathways
  • Provides shopping functionality
  • Publishes guides and useful content
  • Supports community discussion
  • Helps users connect with relevant third-party providers

What Fornur Doesn't Do

  • Diagnose medical conditions
  • Replace qualified healthcare professionals
  • Provide legal advice unless explicitly offered by a licensed provider
  • Make immigration decisions
  • Guarantee results from third-party services
  • Treat community opinions as professional advice

Where a third-party provider delivers a service, that provider remains responsible for professional assessment, pricing, service delivery and applicable licences or professional obligations.

About Fornur

What is Fornur?

Fornur is a Korea-based platform designed to help foreigners discover services, businesses, shopping, healthcare and beauty options, experiences, practical information and community discussions.

Is Fornur the same as Forpang?

Fornur is the new brand identity of the platform previously known as Forpang. The transition reflects the platform's expansion and long-term direction while maintaining continuity with the services and community already developed.

What was Shejang?

Shejang was an international grocery marketplace created around the needs of foreigners living in Korea. The Korea Times featured Shejang in September 2020, highlighting its international grocery offering and focus on making everyday life more convenient for foreign residents.

How are Shejang, Forpang and Fornur connected?

They represent stages in the development of the same broader platform journey. Shejang began with international grocery access. The platform later expanded into Forpang as its scope moved beyond food. In 2026, that broader platform is evolving into Fornur.

Who is Fornur built for?

Fornur is designed primarily for foreigners navigating Korea, including residents, students, professionals, families, newcomers and international visitors.

What can I find on Fornur?

Fornur includes Beauty & Medical, Food & Halal, jobs and visa-related services, living and daily life resources, education, activities and experiences, marketplace shopping, guides and community discussions.

Does Fornur directly provide medical, legal or immigration services?

Generally, no. Fornur provides discovery, information and ways to connect with relevant third-party providers. Regulated professional services remain the responsibility of the appropriate qualified provider or authority.
